Royal Carpets COVID-19 Customer Information
Royal Carpets is the largest flooring stockists in Peterborough and we have been providing floor covering for our valued customers for over a decade. We are doing our best to continue to serve our customers during this difficult time. We have a responsibility towards the sustainability of our company, balanced with the safety of customers and colleagues alike.
We have taken all necessary measures so that you can shop with confidence. To ensure social distancing can be applied, we are limiting the number of customers in our store, and where possible, we encourage customers to make an appointment ahead of visiting. You are welcome to drop in without appointment but once the maximum number of customers in store has been met, we will ask you that you wait outside, two meters apart.
Customer Store Visits:
For those who need to visit a store, we kindly ask that you adhere to the social distancing guidelines. We would like to reassure you that the health and safety of our colleagues, customers and their families is our top priority. The customer visits to the store are restricted to following terms & conditions:
- We are restricting the number of customers in our stores to a
maximum of 2 families (Maximum of 2 people per family excluding children) at any one time.
- We have introduced social distancing measures to protect both colleagues and customers in our stores. Therefore we ask that you leave a two meter gap (6 feet 6 inch) between yourself and our sales staff in the shop. We have also asked our Sales Consultant to keep to the World Health Organisation and Public Health England Guidelines, by keeping at least a 2 meter distance from you and your family! We’re not being impolite, just another step to help keep us all safe.

Home Consultation/Home Visit Update:
In addition, we will only be accepting any new appointments for our Home Flooring Surveyor to visit customers’ homes if they are absolutely necessary for the completion of sales process. We encourage our customers to continue to shop with us in-store.
These are extraordinary times for everyone and the health of our customers, teams, fitters and families is of utmost importance.
At Royal Carpets we’ll make every effort to deliver your flooring and fitting as promised, however, we put the health of our customers and teams above all else and we’re following government guidelines following Covid-19, which is beyond of our control.
To keep everyone safe and sound we’re introducing a few more procedures that we hope you’ll understand!
Our fitters will do a self-assessment health check every morning to make sure they are feeling fit and well before your fitting appointment.
When they arrive, they will have sanitized their hands but may ask if they can wash their hands throughout the fitting.
We have asked our recommended fitters to keep to the World Health Organisation and Public Health England Guidelines, by keeping at least a 2 meter distance from you and your family! We’re not being impolite, just another step to help keep us all safe.
We would also appreciate it if you’re able to stay out of the room while the Fitter is at work as they will be moving all over the room and will need to move about freely.
They’ll let you know as soon as your new flooring is ready to enjoy!
If you’re Self Isolating or feel you have symptoms, please do let us know by calling your store, and we’ll give you the time you need to fully recover before making another appointment for your fitting date.
In this instance, where we need to delay fitting due to health reasons, we’re happy to store your floor without any cost to you, even if you have reached your 12-week maximum storage period.
Finally, we will continue to keep a close eye on current advice and will make changes as often as necessary during this time.
